Vivid tawny and red lights floated across parts of Florida's sky New Year's weekend, in addition to in the Wellington and West Palm Shoreline areas, background off a state of amazement among witnesses.

But associates UFOs weren't so unidentified after all.

The drifter bulbs and streaks were maybe perched lanterns, assumed Brian Vike, engineer of the paranormal blog The Vike Object, which fielded about 250 e-mails, 30 or so from Florida, noting the odd sightings worldwide.
