I asked another friend leaving at the same time, "What is that?" and pointed. She was oblivious to it, and continued talking, I repeated it and pointed again. She saw it, but was unimpressed. She said it was an airplane. I knew it was not. It was larger than any star or planet I have ever seen, about half the size of the moon, but not round. It was flashing or pulsating for about one second on, one second off, very regularly. When it was on, it looked vaguely round, but not perfectly round. The right side seemed to have a defined edge with an angle to it, while the left side appeared more fuzzy. It was not moving, but stayed about 45 degrees up, or halfway to zenith, just slightly east of north. When it was off, it could not be seen. The waxing moon at this time was a day or two past half-full, and was behind me. My friend went getting into her car by now, so I raised my flashlight and flashed it several times toward the object, but felt it was not going to react to my meaningless signal, so I didn't continue. I got in my car and headed home, only a little more than a mile away. I tried to keep it in sight, but was not able to, and by the time a got home less than 5 minutes later, I could no longer find it in the sky. In 2003, mid February, a girlfriend of mine and I saw two bright old rose orbs due north of San Benito, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley.
The event occurred at 1:00 a.m. as we drove from Brownsville to Harlingen, Texas on Hi Way 83. I had the car on cruise at 65 miles per hour. The night was cool and crisp without a cloud in the sky.
There was a full moon to my left at about 45 degrees above the horizon. We were enjoying the gorgeous evening.
As we reached the overpass over the Main Street, Sam Houston, the entire town of San Benito was bathed by a beautiful old rose glow which emanated from two bright old rose orbs that appeared suddenly and without any sound to my right just above the down town area at about 15 degrees above the horizon and slowly drifted west for about 3 degrees.
The entire down town area glowed in the beautiful old rose sheen. The orbs were each about a third of the full moon's diameter, but were much much brighter.
They were in a horizontal alignment and were separated by a distance equal to their respected diameters.
I was able to calculate the next day by retracing the same route that the orbs were seen for exactly one minute. Although our first thought was that they were flares, the light they produced was much brighter than the full moon and they produced no smoke trails.
The local newspaper two days later reported that bright lights had been seen the night of the event.
There is an international airport in the adjoining town of Harlingen, but these were definitely not landing lights.
They were not in the area of the airport and they were so close to the ground that we should have both seen and heard the plane!
As suddenly as they appeared above the horizon they disappeared without a trace!

UFO SIGHTING IN EAST NORTHPORT, NEW YORK ON JULY 30TH 2013 - I OBSERVED THROUGH GEN 3 NIGHT VISION GOGGLES OVER 158 SUBMARINE SHAPED WITH CONNING TOWERS IN NIGHT SKY
I was at home @ 39 Catherine Street. The above address. I have a set of Night Optic's Gen 3 Auto-gated Night Vision Goggles. That evening, i received a 5x magnification lens ( Viewing distance is 1.5 to 3 miles ), in which I adapted to my NV Goggles. I also have a Greem (532nm) Laser Pointer with a Beam Distance of over 30 Miles. Also a Night Optics K-2 Infared adapter with adjustable Beam. From 11:00 p.m. on tuesday July 30th to ;00 a.m. July 31st; I observed 2 Craft Descend west of East northport in the Town of Greenvale, to the Ground. One Hovered, while the second Landed. The 2 were in those positions for about an Hour. I think someone got a Visit or was abducted. Using my Laser, I was signalling the Hovering Disc-shaped craft. It would rise up above the Tree line, Flash a few lights at me ; signaling they Knew, I'm there and they acknowledge my Observation. Then Descend again. During the Interim, I scanned the Night sky ; 360 degree's. Then I observed at various distances other type craft. I was astonished at the Enormity and the Size of the Submarine shaped craft. It looked like they had Conning Towers attached; Like one would see on an Aircraft carrier ! In a 270 degree view, I lost count after 152 Vehicles... I was signaling various moving Craft with 1st my infared and when they suddenly stopped, i shined my laser on them. They returned with Various Flashes of Bright white and yellow lights. Each Craft flashed in different sequences. To Finish my statement ; at 4:00a.m. I was observing a Large Submarine shaped ship which was Very Bright. White almost Opaque in Color; Directing a Red Beam at 2 -3 shaped Disc's; that seamed to be exiting a Similar Sub. Parallel to the One with the Red Beam. The Location was East. At this point I was Tired. I Concentrated my Thoughts: Stating I'm going in the House and I'll be out here Tomorrow Night. I was projecting my Thought Pattern to the Lead Craft in the Sky. "CANADIAN UFO INVESTIGATOR BRIAN VIKE'S NOTE: "There are a lot of reports coming in from across Canada, mostly in British Columbia and Alberta. Trying to figure out what they might be.
"FULL DESCRIPTION OF EVENT/SIGHTING:" I had just pulled out of the carwash to the Heritage and Fairmont intersection red light to head south on Fairmont Dr. SE.
I was obviously looking south across the intersection watching the traffic light to turn green. From my view south to the south southwest some weird lights caught my eye.
They caught my eye because they didn't fit any pattern I could recognize such as aircraft etc.
I kept watching as the light turned green and I went south while still trying to figure the lights out. (and wandering all over the road).
I thought the lights were a reflection off an apartment roof, then I thought had some construction started and they erected one of those big cranes?
I kept watching the lights and thought I have to pull over and get out to see better. The lights were still visible when I turned right (W) on Avonburn Rd. As soon as I turn the corner I stopped in the middle of the road, so the tree on my right wouldn't block the lights and I jumped out on the car.
The lights were now passing the west and fading as they moved north. I saw the lights for a total time of about 25-30 seconds and only about 5 seconds out of the car.
I also thought that they must have been meteors, except they moved too slow, lasted too long and the 2 or 3 lights seemed to be following a single line with a dimmer line of light between them.
So, to sum it up, 2 perhaps a much dimmer 3 rd light moving form SSW to W then towards the north. Not over Calgary, but a long way off about 40 degrees above the horizon of buildings.
Bright enough to be seen well above the brightness of the city lights. I think you would be getting some reports from Calgary westwards.
Just really curious what it could have been and hoping others saw it.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was just leaving a friends apartment on East Street in Sarnia and was just about to get in the car when I noticed a strange white box shaped craft, maybe 30 to 40 feet wide and 10 feet high heading directly towards us, as it passed overhead. We noticed that it had a black stripe down the middle of it, running north to south and it was not that high up, maybe 3 or 4 hundred feet. It was traveling west to east and was moving about the same speed as a small plane, not very fast at all. It was travelling with a flat front that looked like it would encounter alot of resistance, like when you hold your hand out a moving car window, We also did not hear this craft, no sound at all. We watched as it headed towards London, this sighting lasted for about 4 to 5 minutes

Residents of Apt and its surroundings did not believe their eyes

This is 10 minutes that Robert and friends watched with fascination the movement.
Above Gargas, estimated at 5 kilometers in front of them, "after five minutes, all of a sudden, the lights reappear in the same direction. Encore to the horizontal. On the evening of Wednesday, July 2, at the same time, in the sky country of Apt, the lights had already manifested themselves in the eye of Ludovic. The next day, returned to the scene, the phenomenon is repeated.

The civilian and military planes are not allowed to fly at the height where the lights were evaluated. Only the observatory makes an assumption as to the importance of lights:

I am an American Civil War historian and author who has been interested in the UFO phenomenon; especially the Roswell, New Mexico UFO incident. It is interesting to know that the United States government was initially forthright with their informational release concerning the Roswell UFO incident. However, once the newspapers began printing stories of the confirmed UFO crash and the three deceased bodies from another world, the governmental 'back-peddling', retractions, and denials began. Shelly Barclay has done a remarkable job describing the Roswell UFO incident in her article and asks the reader to consider some difficult questions.
Interesting enough, a published article of some 1,800 words was authored by Marguerite F. LaBelle which surfaced during the time of the 'Flying Saucer' phenomenon of July 1947 titled, "Flying Saucers - Fact or Fiction?" Ms. LaBelle was the great-grandmother of Shelly Barclay, the author of the article under review. In her article, Ms. LaBelle theorizes that the Soviet Union maybe behind the 'Flying Saucer' phenomenon because of their technological advancement; the threat they posed to the word with their nuclear weapons, and; the fact that they were on a mission to spread Communism throughout the free world. The article is insightful and makes for interesting reading.

The House science committee carved out two hours of time on Wednesday to discuss the search for extraterrestrial life. Because the House has just seven days of work left before the end of the year, this hearing idea has generated some pretty harsh criticism. But laments about an unproductive Congress finding time to look for aliens of all things are sadly misguided. Today's hearing is a great idea, and it's doing something remarkable: getting the Republican-led, scientifically challenged committee to seriously discuss an important field of research - and the funding needed to keep it going. So stop making fun of it.
To be clear, today's hearing is not about tinfoil hats, nor is it a call for the Obama administration to release the full contents of the X-Files, which totally exist. It's titled "Astrobiology: The Search for Biosignatures in our Solar System and Beyond." It features testimony from astrobiologists from NASA, MIT, and the Library of Congress. For comparison, here are some other recent hearing topics from the committee chaired by Rep. Lamar Smith, a Texan who, among other things, is a climate change skeptic: "Is My Data on Healthcare.gov Secure?, Strengthening Transparency and Accountability within the Environmental Protection Agency," and "EPA Power Plant Regulations: Is the Technology Ready?"
Astrobiology is a pretty broad category of study, but it includes the search for earth-like exoplanets beyond our solar system, and the identification of possible biosignatures on other worlds, including Mars. But the research also includes significant work close to home, including research into the past, present and future of life on Earth. Unsurprisingly, that research, and the technology used to complete it, has a cornucopia of very practical applications. But they are exciting ones, and ones that betray a curiosity and engagement with what science does that is not customarily seen in this wing of Congress. That's in part because planetary research is the sort of research that gets everyone excited. It's kind of a gateway science, which is why it has fruitful applications to science education initiatives, and public engagement. Although it's too early to tell whether today's panel will translate into relief for any of the many, many cash-strapped publicly funded research initiatives in the future (it could very well have no effect at all), these are exactly the kinds of discussions legislators need to have about the programs hurt by budget cuts. With adequate resources and funding, witness Sara Seager told the committee that scientists could find signs of life beyond earth in a generation. But right now, that funding isn't there.
