Ufo Sighting In Dewey Oklahoma On February 28Th 1982 Whitered Lights Separated And Throbbing At Intermittent Intervals Sometimes Staying On
i was almost 19 in march 1982, on my way to work the graveyard shift at a printing co, taking a rural route between bartlesville (where i lived) and dewey. i do not remember exact the date of the event today. i was going north on virginia rd and just before the turnoff to go east at 9th st which would take me into dewey, i noticed a low red light to the northeast, miles away, near busy highway 75. the light had never been there before so caught my attention. i assumed it was a broadcasting tower being erected so i decided to take a longer route of two miles further north before turning to head east toward hwy 75 and this light. it was indiscernible from an ordinary red light on any communications tower except that it alternately pulsated or remained on for several seconds. i made the turn onto county road 1300 to head east toward 75 and went another two miles until i could tell there was no tower. i was absolutely amazed as i pulled up until parallel to it from the road and stopped near where railroad tracks crossed. it was close, on the north side of the road, roughly 100' in the air and maybe 150' from the road where i was stopped. this is when i got excited. there are sporadic houses here about 1/4 mile from hwy 75 and i was trying to figure out what this was when a white light appeared a few feet to the left of the red. the lights appeared to be larger than a light bulb and smaller than a cantaloupe. i cannot remember now how they sequenced, but the red light and white lights (eventually there were three white ones to the left of the red one, separated by a few feet) but they would pulse on/off or remain on at different times. then a beam of bright white spotlight shone straight down. this was directly into a back yard of a house that sat to the north of my position. now i'm thinking "my gosh! it's a ufo!" then the beam that was shining straight down flashed off/on/off/on, then in a smooth mechanical fashion slowly directed it up 90 degrees until it was shining to straight west. i never saw a body or object, just these lights, which was strange because it was so close, although it was night. my mind is racing now. i'm thinking "how many others from the highway are noticing this? isn't anyone else going to pull down here and check this out?!" it was a true phenomenon occurring. i looked to the house on the south side of the road and saw a curtain open and wondered if they saw it or if they were wondering what the heck i was doing parked in front of their home. i was also thinking i'm going to be late for work if i don't leave now. it was a very tough decision. this is when the spotlight shining west went out, along with the white lights, and it began to drift west very slowly. at the first movement after it being stationary (it took me a few minutes to get to it from where i initially sighted it and it remained stationary for another 1-2 minutes after i stopped next to it before "drifting" to the west, parallel to this road i was on) i heard a very slight sound that i can only describe as a person with a wide open mouth quietly sighing next to you. i do not know for sure if it was from this object, but the noise occurred just as the lone red light (the other lights all went out upon it moving and the simultaneous noise i heard) began to drift straight west at what i would estimate as jogging speed, maybe 5mph. i decided to get to work and not follow it. when i got to work, a miracle happened. my supervisor said we are low on orders to run on your machine. he gave me the option of sweeping floors all night or going home. i flew back out to that location and drove west on rd 1300 from hwy 75. i drove two miles past where i initially observed it and turned to go south toward bartlesville and THERE IT WAS AGAIN! now it was only a white light halfway up the side of a wooded hill separated from me by about 1000' of pasture. it was to the west of me. i observed this light do a slow, methodical "study" pattern, rise a few feet, stop, drift a few feet, stop, lower a few feet, stop, repeat...now i'm downright spooked. i'm alone on this desolate road with very few distant houses around and it's dark. i decided to race three miles home and wake my dad to ask if he wanted to see what i saw. i wanted another witness too. i was excited that he agreed and we sped back out there but DAMMIT it was finally gone. my dad believed me though, thankfully. we drove around the area foi was almost 19 in march 1982, on my way to work the graveyard shift at a printing co, taking a rural route between bartlesville (where i lived) and dewey. i do not remember exact the date of the event today. i was going north on virginia rd and just before the turnoff to go east at 9th st which would take me into dewey, i noticed a low red light to the northeast, miles away, near busy highway 75. the light had never been there before so caught my attention. i assumed it was a broadcasting tower being erected so i decided to take a longer route of two miles further north before turning to head east toward hwy 75 and this light. it was indiscernible from an ordinary red light on any communications tower except that it alternately pulsated or remained on for several seconds. i made the turn onto county road 1300 to head east toward 75 and went another two miles until i could tell there was no tower. i was absolutely amazed as i pulled up until parallel to it from the road and stopped near where railroad tracks crossed. it was close, on the north side of the road, roughly 100' in the air and maybe 150' from the road where i was stopped. this is when i got excited. there are sporadic houses here about 1/4 mile from hwy 75 and i was trying to figure out what this was when a white light appeared a few feet to the left of the red. the lights appeared to be larger than a light bulb and smaller than a cantaloupe. i cannot remember now how they sequenced, but the red light and white lights (eventually there were three white ones to the left of the red one, separated by a few feet) but they would pulse on/off or remain on at different times. then a beam of bright white spotlight shone straight down. this was directly into a back yard of a house that sat to the north of my position. now i'm thinking "my gosh! it's a ufo!" then the beam that was shining straight down flashed off/on/off/on, then in a smooth mechanical fashion slowly directed it up 90 degrees until it was shining to straight west. i never saw a body or object, just these lights, which was strange because it was so close, although it was night. my mind is racing now. i'm thinking "how many others from the highway are noticing this?
