Having never been abducted myself, (not to my knowledge anyway) it is hard for me to understand how the whole process takes places, seemingly always in the dead of night, while the abductee is sleeping. Now I do know there are documented cases where the abductees claim to have been fully awake when the abduction occurs initially, but they always, emerge from the experience "waking up." There never is a story that indicates that the abductee walks straight into a police station after getting beamed back down to earth. So even if they were initially awake, the abduction seems to "end" when the abductee rouses from some sort of unconsciousness, or sleep.
So naturally I am interested in this latest theory/explanation that the abduction is the actual result of a lucid dream? Is that possible? How about the well documented case of Betty and Barney Hill, who both allege that they were abducted by aliens in 1961? They both couldn't possibly be having the same lucid dream could they? Not likely. Reports do indicate though, that Betty Hill did have very vivid dreams 10 days after the abduction.

BLACK TRIANGLE SIGHTING IN PHOENIX, WASHINGTON ON OCTOBER 22ND 2013 - WAS MAKING LOUD NOISE, LIKE RUMBLING, HUMMING. I LOOKED OUTSIDE AND SAW IT HOVERING AT FIRST. IT HAD VERY BRIGHT WHITE LIGHTS IN THE SHAPE OF TRIANGLE.
I was getting ready for bed when I realized this loud but subtle sound outside. At first I thought it was a train, but then I realized that a train would not be here at 1:30 in the morning. It was a very powerful, rumbling, low, deep tone that I heard. I became interested and wanted to check outside to see what was really making the noise. The area is very foggy with low cloud cover, and has been like this for a few days. I instantly noticed the UFO over the water, right above Titlow Park. It was about level with the horizon, maybe 100-300ft above the ground. I was very amazed to see it because the three lights in the shape of a triangle were very bright. They were white lights, and I was surprised that they were so easily visible. I stared out my window, shocked and excited and scared. This UfO moved from left to right very slowly over a period of ten minutes. From West to North West overall. At first it moved some, then paused for a minute, then it continued it's path. At certain times it would fade into the background because of the fog, but I could still see it, and wanted to see it for as long as it was visible. The triangle shape was not flat, but rather perpendicular to the ground, so that I could see all three lights clearly in a perfect triangle shape. This scared me because it made it seem as if the UFO was watching me during its whole flight path. There were no planes, helicopters or anything nearby. It was very early in the morning after all. The UFO eventually moved toward North West and reached a certain point where I could no longer see it from my window, so I let the whole thing go and no longer pursued it. I could still faintly hear the humming, pulsating noise even after it was out of my view. Since I was somewhat close to it, I'm sure other people could hear the noise even better if they were a few hundred feet closer. The UFO really wasn't that far away from me. I feel so surprised and scared to see this UFO, for I have heard the sound that it makes many times before. I use to think that it was just a train going by, since the train tracks are about one mile from where I am. It scares me to know that it was something much more than a train, and that it was really a UFO making these noises. There was a time, about a week ago when I woke up around 3AM and heard those same noises, but much louder as if they were right outside my window. The sound from the UFO is really one-of-a-kind and I have not heard anything else quiet like it.

The more I dig into this J. Allen Hynek book project, the more fun it becomes. I'm brushing up on journalistic skills that have laid dormant for several years, and I'm already making some progress...
Today I made two very interesting phone calls. First, I called a lovely lady named Jennie Zeidman, who was Dr. Hynek's assistant on the Air Force's "Project Blue Book" from 1953 to 1955, and an accomplished UFO researcher and author in her own right. Ms. Zeidman seems to have put all that behind her, however, as she seemed reluctant at first to talk about her UFO days.
"I don't have anything to add, beyond what I've already written," she told me with an air of finality. I could have let it go at that, but I wanted to know more -- much more. So I turned on the charm. I asked her if her writing could be found in the archives of Dr. Hynek's research organization, CUFOS, and that spurred her to think on it some more. She suggested I start with an article called "I Remember Blue Book," from an old publication called the" International UFO Report". The article, it turns out, is readily available online and looks to be quite revealing. Ultimately the charm worked (first time ever!), because she said that after I had read her articles and her book, she would be agreeable to entertain some questions from me...

Hot off that success, I called Cherie Ward, a journalist who covered the 2011 death of UFO abductee Charles Hickson for The Mississippi Press" in Pascagoula, MS. I was calling to see if she knew how I could contact Hickson's fellow abductee, Calvin Parker. I didn't even need to turn on the charm this time, which was good because I used up a lot of it with Jennie Zeidman and I could feel it running low.
Even though she no longer works for the "Press", Ms. Ward was more than willing to share her thoughts with me as she recalled what a pleasure it was to honor Hickson in print at the time of his passing. "See, we grew up with that story," she explained. "Everybody here in town knew about their experience, and we can all remember Charlie Hickson setting up his table outside Wal-Mart to sell his book." I liked her immediately, because she spoke of Hickson with such respect, bordering on affection.
Alas, she did not know how to contact Mr. Parker, who has kept a lower profile than Mr. Hickson over the years. But she offered to make some calls on my behalf, in the hope that she could track him down.
All in all, a pretty good day's work. Considering we're talking about events that took place 40 to 60 years ago, it's kind of amazing that I can make a couple of phone calls and actually connect with those events... The trail may be getting cold, but it hasn't disappeared completely.
For ufologists of a certain age the name Clement Freud (right) means several things: grumpy doyen of radio and TV panel shows; grumpy Liberal MP for the Isle of Ely, grumpy celebrity chef and food critic, grumpy star of dog food adverts partnering an equally grumpy-looking dog, and grumpy newspaper journalist and columnist.
Surprising then, to receive from noted sceptic and experimental hoaxer David Simpson, a PDF file from an unidentified magazine recording the great grump's visit to Warminster. It must have been written before 1968, as Arthur Shuttlewood refers to Freud's visit in "Warnings from Flying Friends", his second book, published that year. He recalls: "Clement Freud visited our hill one night and described these satellites as elderly dowagers at a sedate tea party or rolling lawns", although in Freud's piece he attributes the quotation to Shuttlewood. My own opinion is that it sounds more Freudian than Shuttlewoodian.Freud gives entertaining pen-portraits on some ufological figures of the time. Here's Brinsley le Poer Trench:Tall, bespectacled, 40 and abounds with boyish enthusiasm for the venture... we met for breakfast. He arrived 20 minutes early for the appointment, ordered coffe, eggs and bacon, toast and marmalade and was steadily worried about being late for the office; he is advertising manager for a gardening magazineAt the time neither Freud or Trench would have anticipated that between 1975 when Trench succeeded to the title Lord Clancarty, and 1989 when Freud was defeated in the General Election, they would both be Members of Parliament, though in different Houses. I wonder if they met in that period? Here's another familiar figure, Ken Rogers:Secretary/Treasurer of [BUFORA], send one guinea and a stamped addressed envelope... Rogers is 18, works as a copytaker on the "Daily Express", which is a newspaper. He is a slight, fair-haired boy who spends an average of six hours a day on UFO work; his mum is unhappy about the size of the telephone bill... BUFORA is the biggest association of its kind and in the words of the secretary "we have a scheme whereby nuts are excluded... "There is also Arthur Shuttlewood of Warminster in Wiltshire.... A home-spun rustic ('call me Arthur, Clement') with John Arlott-like fluency, a feeling for words and a penchant for taking your arm and pointing to the sky. Arthur and his group are unaffilated to any organisation of association and are probably unaffiliatable.After Warminster Freud ventures to a location near Potters Bar, where he meets the Sky Scouts who are holding a skywatch to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Arnold's sighting, thus dating this event as 1967:They were a motley group: 21 men, two women. A very small man in his early twenties wearing a corduroy suit was equipped with two cameras tied on a plank of wood. This device, he said, would take stereophonic pictures. So far each camera had a separate film but this was a teething problem upon which he was working. His wife, a sad long-haired lady, was carrying a thick batch of UFO magazines; her husband, she explained, was chairman, secretary, printer, everything really. They had an association. Membership had reached four. As it would have been sadistic to have asked if this number included the founder and his lady, I wished them good fortune.Anyone recognise Mr Corduroy? Freud returns to Warminster where he joins the crowd on Cradle Hill. His description of the scene on the hill will be familiar to all Warminster veterans:By now the mist was turning to fog and the journey was long and hazardous. Coming into Warminster of the Westbury road you turn sharp left... and Cradle Hill is the next hill up... About 50 people, a dozen of them women; three telescopes mounted on tripods. A tape recorder flickering by candle light in the open boot of a car. A spirit-lamp hissing away at what would be instant coffee in about 20 minutes time; and over by the gate stood the great Arthur Shuttlewood.It's here that we get the disputed description of satellites as duchesses: "You can tell a satellite, says Arthur because it moves like an aging duchess with an umbrella at a tea party. It traverses the horizon in seven minutes while a UFO can do it in twenty seconds flat" Arthur, we are told was 'surrounded by a small coterie of rustics', but even then, lurking in the background was 'a gaggle of sceptics who had seen nothing.'
Here's another anonymous figure needing identification: 'Arthur introduced me to a young woman, fair of hair and limp of handshake who was reputed to have made a number of sightings in London.' Soon Freud makes his first sighting, one of Arthur's 'matronly dowagers', a satellite moving in the general direction of Devizes:Elevation 36, bearing 259, said the No. 1 man on the telescope. Another relayed the information into the candle lit tape recorder. The elevation and bearing changed... the tape recorder was kept fully informed. 'Are we doing a chop on it?' said the elevation man. I missed the reply.But the sceptics were still around:'Does this count as a sighting?' asked a sceptic who had give a lift to a hitch-hiking Ufologist and accompanied him in search of enlightenment. There was no-one qualified to answer; the Warminster lot, you understand, is unaffiliated.Aha, just as I copied those last words from my PDF printout I noticed a logo of a small gothic typeface letter 'T' at the end of the text, identifying it as being taken from the "Sunday Telegraph" colour magazine.

On Friday night (11/9) at around 7:30-7:45 local time I stepped outside to have a cigarette before getting ready to go to a movie at 8:30. My girlfriend and I were standing on our back porch which looks out to the Northeast. Just as we were about to go inside, I noticed off in the distance a string of four red/orange lights in the sky. I stopped for a moment and then pointed them out to her. As we stood and watched, the lights began to move from East to West, keeping the same distance from each other and moving the same speed. We have several trees in our back yard and a several houses behind ours, but these things were just in the perfect spot where we could see them clearly. As we watched for a few seconds, we noticed the one that was farthest West went behind a tree and we could no longer see it, but as they continued to move, it never reappeared. At the same time, another light appeared from the East side moving in formation with the rest. This continued for a couple of more minutes. As one would disappear to the left side, another would appear on the right. It looked as if these lights were all part of one giant thing that was rotating in the sky. The lights themselves were moving in a semi-circle, but would never leave the path. After a couple of more minutes, my friends who I was going to the movie with came out to see what was taking me so long and I pointed the lights out to them. The immediately agreed that it wasn't normal and stood with us watching for another five minutes. Before long several of the lights never returned. Soon it was just one light moving across the path until that one disappeared as well. The lights themselves were just a solid red-orange color. They did not change color, blink or change size. Where we live we see planes going in for a landing at the airport all the time and it certainly was not a plane or a helicopter. Just taking a stab in the dark, based on the fact that planes were flying through the sky, I would say it was probably a good 10 to 15 miles away from us. Based on where we were looking and how far away I think it was, it must have been near the Marais Temps Clair Conservation Area.

The three most watched UFO films at UFOTV that were posted in the past several weeks are Out of the Blue, The Urzi Case and the film I produced, The Silent Revolution of Truth. First, I'm not going to do an in-depth critique of the films but I am going to point out a couple of things that I most certainly hope will be noted by all people who are interested in the UFO topic.Out of the Blue is a very professional, well-produced documentary on the overall UFO topic, featuring various sightings, comments by astronauts, investigators, witnesses, etc. It discusses aspects of the cover-up of and the refusal by various officials to honestly acknowledge the situation. Indeed, it shows just how dedicated to a very dumbed down handling of the matter officialdom has been engaged in for many decades.The Urzi Case seems to me to be mainly recent UFO footage shot from a rather limited vantage point by a sincere Italian man. He clams to have had many years of such sightings that also predated his videotaping of the objects. We also hear from his girlfriend and various family members about the situation. I didn't find much more to the film than that since there was no actual contact or unique, significant information to be shared.Now my criticism isn't about how well the films were done, or the topic matter they discussed. They both did a very good job with what they had to work with. The problem is that, through no one's fault, neither film really had that much to work with. Neither film presented anything that conclusively establishes what they both imply, indeed what the entire "UFO community" would like us to believe, i.e. that they have proof of the extraterrestrial nature and origins of the objects that have been reported, filmed, etc. In fact, neither film could prove that the objects weren't secret military craft of terrestrial origin, nor did they try to.Despite how "obvious" it is to the true believers that any and all unidentified objects are in themselves proof that they are extraterrestrial, neither of the films can assist in establishing that fact. This is also a true representation of the "ENTIRE" UFO field, with one notable exception, of course.The solitary exception is the Billy Meier contact case, ongoing since..."1942". In The Silent Revolution of Truth, while we present Meier's incomparable and truly irreproducible physical evidence, we do something else that no other film can do. Along with a comprehensive view of the actual contactee, an on-screen evaluation of his and another witness's honesty - by an expert consultant to the U.S. Army Special Forces - some of the dozens of other eyewitnesses, etc., we present something else of even greater importance.We direct the viewer an even higher standard of proof, to Meier's abundant, specific, prophetically accurate scientific information, which, upon very careful critical examination, could only have been gathered, or sourced, by far more advanced beings. Indeed by beings who time and again demonstrate that they can, somehow, access future events with unerring accuracy, e.g. And while we only reveal the tip of this prophetic iceberg in the film, anyone interested has completely free access to dozens and dozens of Meier's specific prophecies and predictions, which are now unfolding at what should be viewed as an alarming rate.And such alarm should be the case, especially among the so-called "UFO community" but for the fact that, ironically, it is collectively the "LEAST" capable group - literally - of perceiving the very thing it claims to be seeking*.Now, as far as the information is concerned, it's safe to say that none of what's in the first two films has had, or probably will have, a life-changing effect on your life other than giving you interesting open-ended questions to ponder. That's fine of course; they both do a very good job of giving you everything that they have to offer. The difference is that the information in the Meier film, and the vast amount connected to it, "WILL" affect your life - whether you are aware of it or not.In fact, it's "ALREADY" affecting your life and will continue to do so. Trouble yourself to delve into the prophecies and predictions, the environmental and scientific information, etc. Ponder the fact that Meier's information from "1987", naming the specific, obscure city from which the Russians will launch their future attacks - including against America and Canada! - is indeed "EXACTLY" where they recently moved their troops and perhaps you will understand why I also focused an hour-long presentation onDo You Want Truth or Entertainment?.Yes, these are three entertaining films. But one of them may very well be the key to our future survival...literally.*Of course there's no shortage of outright frauds, charlatans and delusional people claiming to be contactees, abductees, etc., which is uncritically accepted by the vast majority of the UFO seekers...despite "ZERO" credible supporting evidence. To be clear, there is so far "ZERO" conclusive proof of an "extraterrestrial presence engaging humankind", as well as the equally delusional "thousands of contactees", multitudes of "alien abductions" and scores of "alien-human hybrid babies", as has long been espoused by the professional disinformation group, "exopolitics", whose petition was recently given the well-deserved trashing by the U.S. government..But put actual, un-falsifiable, verifiable, dated, copyrighted and published proof in front of their sleepy eyes and, well, most of the "UFO community" goes back to sleep.A case in point is the folks at Open Minds radio, a not too aptly named group. Their interview of mewas effectively the third attempt to try to discredit the Meier case. Researchers used a multicollector ion microprobe to study hydrogen-deuterium ratios in lunar rock and on Earth. Their conclusion: The Moon's water did not come from comets but was already present on Earth 4.5 billion years ago, when a giant collision sent material from Earth to form the Moon.

Water inside the Moon's mantle came from primitive meteorites, new research finds, the same source thought to have supplied most of the water on Earth. The findings raise new questions about the process that formed the Moon.
The Moon is thought to have formed from a disc of debris left when a giant object hit Earth 4.5 billion years ago, very early in Earth's history. Scientists have long assumed that the heat from an impact of that size would cause hydrogen and other volatile elements to boil off into space, meaning the Moon must have started off completely dry. But recently, NASA spacecraft and new research on samples from the Apollo missions have shown that the Moon actually has water, both on its surface and beneath.
By showing that water on the Moon and on Earth came from the same source, this new study offers yet more evidence that the Moon's water has been there all along.
"The simplest explanation for what we found is that there was water on the proto-Earth at the time of the giant impact," said Alberto Saal, associate professor of Geological Sciences at Brown University and the study's lead author. "Some of that water survived the impact, and that's what we see in the Moon."
The research was co-authored by Erik Hauri of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, James Van Orman of Case Western Reserve University, and Malcolm Rutherford from Brown and published online in Science Express.
To find the origin of the Moon's water, Saal and his colleagues looked at melt inclusions found in samples brought back from the Apollo missions. Melt inclusions are tiny dots of volcanic glass trapped within crystals called olivine. The crystals prevent water escaping during an eruption and enable researchers to get an idea of what the inside of the Moon is like.
Research from 2011 led by Hauri found that the melt inclusions have plenty of water -- as much water in fact as lavas forming on Earth's ocean floor. This study aimed to find the origin of that water. To do that, Saal and his colleagues looked at the isotopic composition of the hydrogen trapped in the inclusions. "In order to understand the origin of the hydrogen, we needed a fingerprint," Saal said. "What is used as a fingerprint is the isotopic composition."
Using a Cameca NanoSIMS 50L multicollector ion microprobe at Carnegie, the researchers measured the amount of deuterium in the samples compared to the amount of regular hydrogen. Deuterium is an isotope of hydrogen with an extra neutron. Water molecules originating from different places in the solar system have different amounts of deuterium. In general, things formed closer to the sun have less deuterium than things formed farther out.
Saal and his colleagues found that the deuterium/hydrogen ratio in the melt inclusions was relatively low and matched the ratio found in carbonaceous chondrites, meteorites originating in the asteroid belt near Jupiter and thought to be among the oldest objects in the solar system. That means the source of the water on the Moon is primitive meteorites, not comets as some scientists thought.
Comets, like meteorites, are known to carry water and other volatiles, but most comets formed in the far reaches of the solar system in a formation called the Oort Cloud. Because they formed so far from the sun, they tend to have high deuterium/hydrogen ratios -- much higher ratios than in the Moon's interior, where the samples in this study came from.
"The measurements themselves were very difficult," Hauri said, "but the new data provide the best evidence yet that the carbon-bearing chondrites were a common source for the volatiles in the Earth and Moon, and perhaps the entire inner solar system."
Recent research, Saal said, has found that as much as 98 percent of the water on Earth also comes from primitive meteorites, suggesting a common source for water on Earth and water on Moon. The easiest way to explain that, Saal says, is that the water was already present on the early Earth and was transferred to the Moon.
The finding is not necessarily inconsistent with the idea that the Moon was formed by a giant impact with the early Earth, but presents a problem. If the Moon is made from material that came from Earth, it makes sense that the water in both would share a common source. However, there's still the question of how that water was able to survive such a violent collision.
"The impact somehow didn't cause all the water to be lost," Saal said. "But we don't know what that process would be."
It suggests, the researchers say, that there are some important processes we don't yet understand about how planets and satellites are formed.
"Our work suggests that even highly volatile elements may not be lost completely during a giant impact," said Van Orman. "We need to go back to the drawing board and discover more about what giant impacts do, and we also need a better handle on volatile inventories in the Moon."
Funding for the research came from NASA's Cosmochemistry and LASER programs and the NASA Lunar Science Institute.
