A group of retired U.S. Air Force officers have claimed a science fiction-like story or movie - attack of so-called unidentified flying object(UFO) to nuclear missiles in the United States and Britain.
A British daily reported Sunday they have claimed that aliens have been hovering over British and U.S. nuclear missile sites and deactivating the weapons since 1948.
They also claimed that the aliens once even landed in a British base, the Daily Mail reported.
The paper said that they criticized the two "governments are hushing the activity up."
Captain Robert Salas, one of the seven former officers, said, "The U.S. Air Force is lying about the national security implications of unidentified aerial objects at nuclear bases."
He witnessed such an object in person at Malmstrom Air Base in Montana, on March 16, 1967, according to the report. He was on duty when an object came over and hovered directly over the site.
After that, 10 Minuteman nuclear missiles shut down.
The same thing took place at another base a week later. The unidentified object showed a strong interest in the nuclear missiles.
"I personally think they're not from the planet Earth," said Salas.
Another witness Colonel Charles Halt claims to have seen a UFO at RAF Bentwaters near Ipswich in Britain. It is one of the few British nuclear bases to hold nuclear weapons.
Thirty years ago, he saw the object firing beams of light into the base. He heard on the military radio that aliens had landed inside the nuclear storage area, the Mail reported.
They plan to present declassified information which they claim backs up their findings.
They have also claimed to have witness testimony from 120 former or retired military personnel which points to alien intervention at nuclear sites in the U.S. as recently as 2003.
