Two scientists from Pennsylvania University conducted a mathematical analysis and believe that you should not be so categorical and lament the lack of interest in our solar system - just as long as we were not able to verify the absence of extraterrestrial artifacts.
The vastness of space, combined with our limited search clearly indicates that any remotely from Earth unmanned research probe of extraterrestrial origin are likely to go unnoticed.

Enrico Fermi paradox raises the question: if intelligent life is common, why we do not see any technological civilization than ours? The answers to this question usually lies in the cultural plane, for example, life is found only rarely, and any intelligent life inevitably destroys itself, or just hiding from other predators-civilizations.
However, even without direct contact to send unmanned probes to study our civilization seems logical act. Such probes can be small and hidden in various corners of our solar system. For example, in sizes ranging from 1 to 10 m and weighing just over one ton in the asteroid belt, they will be practically invisible. Even today's program to track asteroids are mainly focused on the objects of larger size, and passing through the near-Earth space.
Scientists have examined the solar system as a fixed amount and tried to find out what percentage of this amount must be carefully searched to find alien probes (provided that they are not masked, for example, by an asteroid).
Taking into account the variety of potential biases, such as "The universe is teeming with life" or "life - a very rare phenomenon," researchers have developed equations that can be applied to a specific part of the volume of the solar system and say exactly whether it has been studied enough to guarantee that there is no alien probes.
Current results of applying this equation to our solar system suggests that it has been insufficiently studied in order to categorically say "in our alien artifact there." To date, the Earth's surface is one of the few places in the solar system, which is almost entirely photographed with a resolution of less than 1 meter. Even on Earth there are many sites (caves, jungles, places on the ocean floor), which have not been studied. So even on this planet there is a possibility of finding alien artifact.
Strange as it seems, but a smaller probability of finding extraterrestrial "surprises" show the moon and Mars. Moon probe studies Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (resolution camera about 60 cm), and the Red Planet - a huge number of missions with high-resolution cameras that are constantly surveying the surface.
However, the vast majority of the volume of the solar system is unexplored, including the Kuiper Belt, where you can hide very large objects.

The search for alien life doesnt end within the boundaries of our solar system. Scientists are now searching for moons orbiting alien planets that might play host to extraterrestrial life.
A new project called the Hunt for Exomoons with Kepler (HEK) is the first systematic search for exomoons, or moons that circle planets outside our solar system.HEK astronomers, led by David Kipping at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, simulate billions of possible star-planet-moon arrangements using NASAs Pleiades Supercomputer.
They then compare the results with actual data taken with NASAs Kepler telescope, which monitors the brightness of stars in an effort to find exoplanets that could harbor life. If one of the simulated combinations matches the Kepler data, that area warrants further exploration....
