The Surface of Mercury taken by NASA's Messenger Spacecraft
This is the first of my series of blog posts I've been planning to write on the different planets and moons in our solar system. I plan on writing about each planet in order and the moons orbiting these planets and will be talking about the alien artefacts which have been photographed on these planets and moons. I'm also going to discuss some of the more prominent comets and asteroids which are floating around our tiny piece of space. There is evidence of some sort of Alien activity on nearly every planet in our solar system and even though a lot of it may be people's imaginations running away with them and some of it is just plainly obviously not a Martian head popping up over the horizon or an extra terrestrial lizard shaped like a rock some of it genuinely looks out of place and could very well be of alien origin. I'm going to start at the obvious place which is Mercury, the first of our solar systems eight main planets and the closest to the sun.

Mercury is only about a tenth the size of earth and goes through massive fluctuations in its temperatures from being in full unprotected view of the Sun's rays during the day and the temperature can reach as much as 800 degrees Fahrenheit during the day dropping to hundreds of degrees below zero during the night it's not really the place for any sort of life to thrive. Under the surface however is a different story and there's even evidence there may be ice permanently sat deep in the planets craters which escapes the suns deadly rays during the day. According to studies carried out by NASA's Messenger Spacecraft which has been orbiting Mercury since 2011 there could be between 100 billion and one trillion tonnes of ice water on and under Mercury's rocky surface. One of the photographs taken by NASA's orbiter also appears to show some sort of structure inside one of the craters. It wouldn't surprise me if there was something there but who knows, I'm thinking of going up there to have a look when I've got time but would probably be best to go around tea time when I'm less likely to be burnt to death or frozen like that guy in Terminator Two.
